Your CD arrived yesterday and [my girlfriend and] I listened to it this afternoon. Congratulations on a terrific production ! Art and engineering are superb, and your playing--no surprise--is wonderful. A highly enjoyable listening experience.
I imagine it was difficult to decide on your selections. I think the ones you picked provided a strong and well rounded showcase for your skills. I liked the Debussy pieces best.
Well done, sir. Best wishes for successful distribution of the CD.

[Thank you for] sending us that CD of your artistry.  We had a big snow storm here a couple of weeks ago, and stranded in the house, we took the occasion to sit quietly and listen.  I just found it amazing.  I felt like I was in a concert  hall with a great artist.  And in a way I was.  Thanks so much for sending it to us.  I expect that we will listen to it again and again.

Starting at the ripe age of five, I received my musical training in the New York area during my grade school and high school years with the late Polish immigrant and concert pianist Adam Kapuscinski.  While my formal training is classical, I played for many years in different bands - top 40 bands, show bands, function (wedding) bands, even a duo.  Since moving to Portland, Oregon in 1985, I have played solo recitals, weddings, holiday parties and other functions.

Available for solo recitals, piano lessons, weddings, holiday parties, other functions -- just about anywhere you need music to set the mood!

Solo piano recitals

From Bach and Beethoven to Ravel and Rachmaninoff, I look forward to sharing music by the masters with you.

"...thanks for your magisterial concert at Old Church on Wed.  Had never heard of you before but you came highly recommended by our friend, the hyper-critical amateur scrutinizer (and professional Harvard-trained scrivener), Dick... He warned us you were quite good, to anticipate amazement. Your selections were wonderful, performance flawless to our adoring ears. So delightful was your performance we forgot to eat our sandwiches, savored them and your talents on a bench over in the Park Blocks.  Altogether, the best Wednesday with the best music in the best city in America." -- Leon, Glenda, and Bill, Vancouver WA

Weddings, holiday parties, other functions

Jazz standards (It Had to be You, Always, Misty, New York--New York, etc etc), Here Comes the Bride, the Mendelssohn recessional ("Wedding March"), Pachelbel Canon in D, and many others. Don't Take My Word For It

Check out some of my reviews on Wedding Wire

"Philip played for a birthday event in our garden. He was a welcome member of the party. He is intuitive and talented. He is flexible and very social. He arrived on time, dressed well, played beautifully, and added a touch of elegance to our party. Many of our guests complimented us on the music. We were delighted to have him come and play." "Phil was fabulous to work with. My mom contacted him and completed all of the business side of things, but she reported that he was very polite and had amazing customer service. When I finally met him on the day of my wedding I was impressed by how gracious and personable he is. During the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, his piano playing was incredible and it added so much flair and elegance to the event." -- Alyx, Portland OR

A parent's recent review after his son's piano lesson with me:

"My son recently began taking Piano lessons from Phil, and we are extremely satisfied. Phil is an accomplished classical pianist himself, with a strong background and many years of experience. He is a patient teacher who emphasizes mastery of fundamentals such as technique, but he is also very capable of instructing more advanced students in the area of interpretation. I believe Phil is interested in taking intermediate to advanced students, so he may not be the teacher for you if you're a beginner. But, if you're more advanced and would like to progress to the next level, Phil is an excellent choice."
